Closest family run grocery store is at 2 km from us. They sell fresh bread and delicious "schiacciata" (flat bread) every day. Bagni di Lucca (at 5 km from us), is a nice tourist resort, where you will find shops and sport centers (big public swimming pool, tennis courts, chemist, supermarkets, etc.) and a spa, beloved destination of artists like Byron, Shelley, Puccini, Metternich and Radetzky. Traces of this glorious past are to be found in its monuments: the English Church, the Catene bridge, the Spa, the villas, the Casino (the first gambling house to be opened in Europe). The town provides some very good restaurants, where you can taste our traditional cuisine. Enjoy beautiful walks, bicycle or horse rides on the hills around our properties, full of churches and Roman parishes. Nearby, Borgo a Mozzano and the Maddalena bridge, better known as the Devil’s bridge, the little canyon Orrido di Botri, the Garfagnana villages, Barga with its typical historical centre, Coreglia Antelminelli and its Museum of Plaster Figures and Emigration are just a few of the places worth a visit.
